The Path From Writing Dry Spell
Monday, January 11, 2010 Ever experience a writing dry spell? Well- I'm mid-spell and slowing digging my way out. I've been here before and the best thing to do is to pivot my focus and attention on 'something' where there is forward movement, no matter how little. Could it possibly be laundry? Yes. Could it be spending four hours detangling a mammoth-fleece-knot from the back of my hair? Yes. Could it be painting my nails Potato Fields by Essie? Yes. All mundane and un-glamorous, but purposeful and satisfying. It's all in the feeling. So if you ever bump into Mr. Dry Spell, just sniff-out a good feeling result and there you have your road to renewed creative flow.
